The Talents
Jesus told his disciples this parable about a master who distributed talents to his servants before a journey, expecting them to manage these resources faithfully in his absence. The two servants who multiplied their talents were rewarded with greater trust and joy upon the master's return, but the servant who buried his talent was condemned for his laziness and fear. Through this account, the Lord teaches that God grants gifts for active stewardship in his kingdom, with faithfulness leading to reward and unfaithfulness resulting in judgment when Christ returns.
