The Vine and the Branches
In addressing his disciples on the eve of his departure, Jesus presented himself as the true vine tended by the Father as husbandman, with believers as branches called to remain connected through obedient faith. Those who abide in him bear much fruit to the glory of God, while those who fail to do so wither and face removal, for the Savior plainly declares that without him no one can accomplish anything of eternal value. This teaching reveals the heart of Christian obedience as a living union with Christ, essential to fruitfulness in the unfolding story of redemption.
