Parting of the Red Sea
In the book of Exodus, as the Israelites fled slavery in Egypt under Moses' leadership, they became trapped between the pursuing Egyptian army and the Red Sea. God commanded Moses to stretch out his staff, parting the waters to create a dry path flanked by walls of water, enabling the people to cross safely. Once the Israelites reached the far shore, the waters returned and drowned Pharaoh's forces, eliminating the immediate threat of recapture. This miracle holds central significance in Scripture as a demonstration of God's sovereign power and covenant faithfulness, frequently referenced as a paradigm of divine deliverance and salvation.
