Bread / Manna
God rained down manna in the wilderness each morning to meet the daily needs of his people, teaching them to rely wholly on his faithful provision rather than their own strength or stores. This heavenly bread found fuller meaning when Jesus identified himself as the bread of life, the one whose coming and sacrifice alone impart eternal sustenance to every hungry soul that receives him. At the last supper he took bread, blessed it, and broke it, declaring it his body given for them, thereby establishing an enduring sign of his redemptive provision that nourishes believers across the ages.
