Redemption
Redemption refers to God's initiative to purchase back and restore humanity, which had become enslaved to sin and separated from its Creator following the fall in the Garden of Eden. This act was accomplished through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who paid the ultimate price to satisfy the demands of divine justice. In Scripture, this theme is central to both the Old and New Testaments, illustrated through events like the Exodus from Egypt and fulfilled in the teachings of the apostles regarding salvation by grace. Ultimately, redemption signifies the restoration of fellowship with God and the promise of eternal life for believers.

Did You Know?
Redemption is the act of buying back what was lost. The kinsman-redeemer in Ruth, the Passover lamb in Exodus, and the cross of Christ all tell the same story. God does not abandon what belongs to Him.
We were sold under sin. We could not buy ourselves back. The Redeemer came from outside, paid the price, and set the captives free. Redemption is not a negotiation. It is a rescue.
The day of redemption is coming. The Spirit is the down payment. We are sealed for the day when our bodies will be redeemed and the whole creation will be set free from its bondage to corruption.
